Amanda Hennessey - Co-Founder, Teacher

Amanda received her MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School in NYC.  She was Co-Founder of Boston Acting Classes with her husband, Art, and taught acting there for two decades. She also taught at Boston University's Film School, the New York Film Academy, and privately.

She studied with Upright Citizens Brigade, Jack Plotnick, Karen Kohlhaas, Matthew Bonifacio, Josh Pais and at The Barrow Group in New York City.

Amanda has performed on stage, in films, industrials, voice-overs and commercials.  Her film projects include Rubberneck (with Alex Karpovsky of HBO's Girls) that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and Off Season, which premiered at the Woods Hole Film Festival.

One of her favorite stage roles was playing Lois Lane from the 50s in the Superheroine Monologues. All I wanted was for Superman to marry me! (Is that too much to ask?) Fun fact:  Art played Clark and Superman.

Amanda is also the founder of San Diego Public Speaking. Her mission is to empower people to actually enjoy sharing their work or thoughts with others in a compelling way.
